About
About the Tournament
Since its first edition
A gathering, not a competition.
The Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament is a high‑profile amateur golf event held in Ghana under the patronage of the President. It is designed not only as a sporting competition but also as a gathering of business executives, government officials, and other leaders, with the aim of promoting national development through sport and networking.

Purpose & Theme

It aims to generate ideas, foster collaboration, and encourage business opportunities — some editions even set out to spur investment deals.
Participants
Mostly executive and corporate golfers from across Ghana, including prominent figures in business, government, and traditional leadership. Some editions draw in golfers from other West African countries.
Format

Auxiliary prizes are also awarded, such as “longest drive” and “closest to pin.”
Venues
The tournament has been held at several prominent golf courses, including Royal Golf Club in Kumasi and Achimota Golf Club in Accra, among others. Venues sometimes change for logistical reasons.
