Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website headofstategolf.com (the “Site”) and your participation in, or attendance at, the Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament (the “Tournament”), organized by Northwestern Solutions and the Ghana Golf Association together with their partners and sponsors (“we,” “us,” or “the Organizers”). By using the Site, submitting an enquiry, or registering to attend or play in the Tournament, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or register for the Tournament.

1. About the Tournament

The Tournament is an invitation-oriented event held annually at Achimota Golf Club, Accra, Ghana. Participation, seating, and attendance are at the sole discretion of the Organizers and may be reserved for heads of state, diplomats, sponsors, and other invited or approved guests. Submitting an enquiry through the Site does not guarantee an invitation, registration, or entry, and the Organizers may decline, limit, or revoke participation at any time.

2. Registration & Eligibility

Where registration is opened, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself. The Organizers reserve the right to verify eligibility, request additional information, and refuse or cancel a registration — including after acceptance — for reasons such as capacity, security, sponsorship conflicts, or breach of these Terms. Dates, format, venue, and categories of play described on the Site are subject to change and will be updated as details are confirmed.

3. Assumption of Risk

Golf and attendance at a live sporting and social event carry inherent risks, including but not limited to movement of golf balls and equipment, uneven terrain, weather, and general venue conditions. By participating in or attending the Tournament, you voluntarily assume all such risks and agree to follow the reasonable instructions of Tournament staff, marshals, and Achimota Golf Club personnel at all times.

4. Donations & Payment

Registration for the Tournament is free. At registration, you may choose to make a voluntary donation to the HOS Foundation in support of its community initiatives; donations are entirely optional and do not affect your registration or participation. Donations are processed securely online via Paystack and are generally non-refundable once made, except where required by law. A receipt is issued for every completed registration, whether or not a donation is made.

5. Photography, Video & Media

The Tournament is photographed and filmed for promotional, editorial, and archival purposes, and selected images and footage may be published on the Site (including the Gallery), on our social media channels, and in sponsor or press materials. By attending or participating in the Tournament, you consent to being photographed or filmed and to the use of your likeness in such materials, without compensation, unless prohibited by law or you have made a specific prior arrangement with the Organizers in writing.

6. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its systems, or related networks;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s operation or security;
• Copy, scrape, or reproduce Site content for commercial purposes without permission;
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any enquiry or registration channel.

7. Intellectual Property

The Site, including its text, graphics, logos, photographs, and the “Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament” name and marks, are owned by or licensed to the Organizers and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute this content without our prior written consent, other than for personal, non-commercial viewing of the Site.

8. Sponsors & Third-Party Links

The Site features and links to sponsors, partners, and third-party platforms (including Instagram). These third parties operate independently of us, and we are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Links are provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement.

9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The Site and information about the Tournament are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organizers, their partners, sponsors, and Achimota Golf Club shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the Site or your attendance at or participation in the Tournament, except where such liability cannot be excluded under Ghanaian law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by proven negligence).

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Tournament, the Site, or applicable law. The “Last updated” date above will be revised accordingly, and continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and any dispute arising from them or from the Tournament shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
